Carlog System - the software company behind market-leading electronic driver's log

Carlog System was the first company in Denmark to offer a GPS-based electronic driver's log for smartphones. We continually strive to be ahead – with determined focus on both GPS-based technology in cars and on the underlying online portal.

Carlog System has been on the market since 2008 when we introduced small GPS positioning devices for windscreens and fixed installations. The time has passed for the  expensive GPS units and it was obvious that with the growing smartphone market.  Smartphone applications was the next step for Carlog System. Today we offer apps for  iPhone and Android – and in the near future for Windows phones, too.

The vision for Carlog System is to help companies, municipalities and other organizations  save money by freeing up valuable time throughout the value chain. We do this by  drastically reducing the time spent on managing driving log accounts. Carlog System’s  products thus minimize the time that e.g. sales representatives, consultants, caretakers  and insurance agents spend managing their daily driving logs. Add to this the fact that  central administration resources are also optimized through an advanced online transport  administration portal developed by Carlog System.

Today Carlog System’s products are used in a number of Danish municipalities and major  companies. We are constantly working to optimize and improve our products to maintain  our market leader position.

The market in Denmark for Carlog Systems products are divided into three segments

- The private market and users who buys the products through Carlogs  website. There are approximately 2 users a day serving themselves, users that we have  never contacted. The decision making process is short. This market has a high potential, not the big earnings per user. I is of high  importance that the website is user friendly without users need to contact support. The profit comes all by itself and without much effort. 

- The private market -> companies with 10 to 3000 users. The decision making process may vary from company to company, often 1 to 3  months. Our experience is that you must avoid contacting the IT department. The IT  department can see the benefit, but they will get the work load by implementing the  system. NEVER contact the IT department. It is better to contact the Finance Department and/or the HR department for a  presentation. Implementation and commissioning can also vary slightly, often 2-3 weeks. This market has a very high potential and very much revenue due to expansion  modules for the company.

- The public sector, municipalities, regions and ministries. Very long decision-making often, up to a year before the agreement is in place. Our experience is that you must avoid contacting the IT department. The IT  department can see the benefit, but they will get the work load by implementing the  system. NEVER contact the IT department. It is better to contact the Finance Department and/or the HR department for a  presentation. Implementation and commissioning is also very long and demanding. This market has a very high potential and very much revenue due to expansion  modules for the company. The market and the clients are stabile and secure client for years.

The markets and segments can be rather similar on other markets, like i.e. Germany, Sweden etc.
